SCAM ALERT: Protect Yourself and Loved Ones
With the rise in AI and digital technology, we are seeing an increase in sophisticated scams — many of which are targeting seniors in our community.
Scammers are using realistic phone calls, emails, and even cloned voices to trick people into giving away money or personal information. These scams can be very convincing.
Here’s how you can stay safe:
• Hang up on suspicious calls — especially those demanding immediate payment or personal info.
• Verify any requests with a trusted family member or friend.
• Never share personal or banking information over the phone or email unless you are certain of the source.
• Report any suspected scams to the police immediately.
Let’s look out for each other. Please check in on your elderly family members and friends, and talk to them about how these scams work.
Stay informed. Stay safe.
