The death of Darrell Burton Saunders, husband of Rubena (Russell) Saunders, of Bartibog Bridge, NB, occurred on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Percy’s Place at the age of 78. Born in Chatham, NB, he was the son of the late Burton and Gwen (Silliker) Saunders.

Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters: Darla Saunders (Kirk Roach) of Fredericton, NB, Nancy Saunders of Dartmouth, NS; sister: Carolyn Comin (Dave) of Edmonton, AB; brother: Bob Saunders (Glenda) of Millerton, NB; sisters-in-law: Carmel Sobey (late Eugene), Charlotte Russell (late John), Brenda Dealy (late Keith); as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11:30-12:45pm. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1 o’clock with Pastor Phillip Penny officiating. Interment will follow in Saunders Cemetery.
