A missing 83-year-old man from New Bandon, N.B., has been safely located by Police Dog Services in New Bandon.

On April 16, 2026, at approximately 3:45 p.m., members of the Doaktown RCMP detachment received a report of a missing 83-year-old man from New Bandon. The man, who suffers from medical conditions which cause him to appear confused and disoriented, was seen walking in wooded area near powerlines by a resident, who then contacted police. Members from the Doaktown, Sunny Corner, and Blackville detachments, along with RCMP Police Dog Services, Air Services, and a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (drone) pilot immediately attended the location to begin searching.

That evening, shortly after 6 p.m., the man was located in a wooded area by PSD Klue and her handler, Sgt. Mike L’italien. He was treated by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries, and was returned home safely.

The RCMP would like to thank the Department of Natural Resources, Ambulance New Brunswick, and Justice and Public Safety for their assistance.
