JMH earns finals berth in comeback win

JMH will attempt to repeat as NB football champs next weekend

James M Hill played Harbour View High on the weekend in the semi-final of the NBIAA 9-Man football league.  JMH won the NB title last year, and with the 40-13 defeat of Harbour View they earn the right to play undefeated Rothesay in this years final.  The game will take place at Centennial Park in Moncton on November 12, at 1:15 pm.

Harbour View looked dominant early getting out to a 13 - 0 lead while gaining large chunks of yardage on each play.  The Tommies managed to get two turnovers int he 2nd quarter to turn the tide, and their first score came on a beautiful 50 yard pass play where QB Aiden Olafsson connected with a streaking Connor Casey.

Late in the first half the Tommies drove to the Harbour View 2 yard line, but could not score and the half ended 13 - 7 for the visitors.

The second half was all Tommies as they forced several turnovers and scored at will reeling off 5 unanswered touchdowns to demoralize the visiting the team.

Aside from the stellar play of Casey and Olafsson, Noah Theriault, Ben Jenkins and Ethan Doiron also scored for the Tommies.

The Tommies had a good season with their only loss coming to Rothesay.  Rothesay is undefeated and leads the league in both offensive and defensive categories, and will pose a huge obstacle to the JMH hopes of repeating as champs.

This will be the Tommies third straight trip to the final in only their 6 season in the league.
