In Loving Memory of Myrtle L. Dickson
1939 – 2025
Myrtle Louise Dickson of Napan, NB, passed away peaceful at her daughter’s residence, surrounded by family, in Miramichi, NB on April 16, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born in Newcastle, NB, on March 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie (Howe) Parks. She was a home maker and attended Carmel United Church.
Myrtle is survived by her husband, Erwin Dickson; two daughters: Marion Kelly (Ted) of Miramichi and Tracy Manuel of Portage River, NB; two sons, Peter Dickson of Napan and Ricky Parks (Brenda) of Moncton; five grandchildren: Taylor (Alex), Jensen (Mitchell), Megan, Hayley and Jennifer; two sisters: Mae Mahar (Thomas) of Ontario and Judy Murdock (Percy) of Miramichi, NB; one brother, Donald Parks of Miramichi, NB; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, son-in-law, Roger, brothers: Harold, Blair and Robert, sisters: Treva, Iva, Betty, Anita, Evelyn, Hazel and Carolyn.
In younger years, Myrtle was actively involved in the UCW in which she actively participated in church supper and other events in the community. She was always there to lend a helping hand. She loved spending quality time with family. She loved playing cards, going to Bingo, playing scratch tickets along with watching her favourite shows including The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal and Jeopardy.
In later years, she was able to enjoy her home and activities through the unwavering and excellent care from her caregiver Ellen Donovan. She enjoyed many drives, outings to see her sister Evelyn, getting her hair cut and many meals at Scholten’s. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Ms. Donovan.
Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm from Adams Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend Keith Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Extra Mural Program or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
