Donald Blair Sweezey, passed away at Bridgeview Hall, Shannex on December 9, 2024 at the age of 93.

Born in Chatham, NB, on December 29, 1930, he was the son of the late Cecil and Frances (Kelly) Sweezey.

Donald was a member of the Pioneer Senior Citizens Club and past President of the club.  A life member of Chatham Lodge #45 IOOF and also a member of the Silver Link Rebekah Lodge #61.  He was also on District #10 School Board.

Donald worked with W.S. Loggie Co. Ltd., as a licensed Mechanic for twenty-five years and then had his own Mechanic Shop for twenty-five years.  He also drove School Bus for district #10 until his retirement.

He had a great love for training and racing his Standard Bread Horses where he raced in NB, PEI and NS.  He also loved to go race in Bangor, Maine, USA and New Hampshire, USA.

Donald is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son, Kevin (Cathy) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren: Tyna of Miramichi, Chris of Calgary, AB and Dylon of Hamilton, ON; great-granddaughter, Dynika and great-grandsons: Bennett and Emrik; great-great-granddaughter, Huntleigh; one sister, Shirley (Robert) of Fredericton, NB and brother, Roland of Miramichi; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, daughter, Kimberley Dawn; two brothers: James and Richard.
