David Francis MacKenzie of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away at Shannex – Losier Hall, New Brunswick, on December 10, 2024, at the age of 90.

Born in New Glasgow, NS, on July 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (Bowden) MacKenzie.  David worked as a Stationary Engineer for the  Municipal Government of the City of Toronto until his retirement.  In his early years, David enlisted in the military during the Korean War, though he was too young to serve there.  Instead, he spent two years stationed in Germany before his discharge.

David is survived by his brother, Bill MacKenzie (Sheila) of Miramichi; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, and by three brothers: John, Robert, and Donald, and three sisters: Margaret, Diane, and Joan.

As per David’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Interment will be held in Nova Scotia later in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
