Colin William Ross, 80, of Oak Point, New Brunswick, passed away on December 13th, 2024, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, Miramichi, New Brunswick.

Colin was the son of the late Oakley and Lylia (McWilliam) Ross.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Ross; and brother-in-law, Bill Onion.

Colin is survived by his former wife, Joan (Oldfield) Ross; his daughter, Colleen (Lars Almen) of Moncton, NB; his sons: Kevin (Lainey) of Miramichi, NB, and Kenneth (Sandra Comeau) of Oak Point, NB; and his grandchildren, Kyle (Emma), Emily (Colton Hogan), and Mia Almen.  He is also survived by one sister, Joan Onion of Smith Falls, Ontario; and one sister-in-law, Jacqueline Ross of Miramichi, NB; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As a father and grandfather, Colin was deeply proud of his children and grandchildren.  Colin lived his entire life in Oak Point on the Ross homestead, which overlooked the river he loved to fish.

Colin worked at various jobs, including fishing, farming, and as a Labourer.

As per Colin’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations made to the Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation, Moorefield Cemetery, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Kruger, Dr. Rambaran, Dr. Slorach, and the staff of the emergency department, second-floor west unit, as well as all other staff (Lab, Respiratory, and Medical Imaging) at the Miramichi Regional Hospital for their exceptional care.
