Willis Boyd Williston

  • Sep 02, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Willis Boyd Williston announces his passing on September 1, 2025, at the age of 69.

As a boy, Willis cherished spending time with his grandparents in Bay du Vin, New Brunswick, where he created fond memories and developed a strong work ethic working alongside his grandfather and his uncle Frankie—a foundation that would carry him through his many careers.

At just 16, Willis met the love of his life, Judy. Together, they built a beautiful family and a life rich with cherished memories. Though Willis would eventually travel to and from Alberta for work, the time he spent with his family was immeasurable. He deeply valued every moment with them and was always ready with a laugh, a helping hand, and—most importantly—a big hug.

In recent years, Willis was blessed to rediscover one of his greatest passions: fishing. He was fortunate to share this joy with his loved ones and closest friends, creating yet another chapter of treasured memories.

Willis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but one thing is certain: he’s found the best fishing spot in heaven, casting his line in eternal peace.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Judy; his children, Melanie Murphy (Terry), Gregory (Erica), and Bradley (Tanya); and his cherished grandchildren, Kieran, Hailey, Evan, Reese, Ethan, and Benjamin. He will also be missed by his siblings: Laura Lee Kenny (Ed), Theresa Walls (Lorne), Harrison, Alfred (Nadine), Hubert (Joanne), Elizabeth Ann (Bardo), Barbie (Ron), Bobby (Bertha), Kenny (Jen); and sister-in-law, Trina Williston; extended family; and countless friends whose lives he touched with kindness and laughter.

Willis is predeceased by his parents, Boyd and Jean; his sister, Ellen; and his brother, Kevin.

At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or service at this time. A celebration of Willis’ life will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to New Brunswick Extra Mural Program, Miramichi SPCA, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, telephone (506) 773-3492. Additionally, messages of condolence may be shared online at www.adamsfh.ca.
