The family of Ricky Morehouse are deeply saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Hospice Miramichi at the age of 67. Husband of Kathy (Hayter) Morehouse of Miramichi, NB.

Ricky Morehouse was a modest, hardworking, salt-of-the-earth man-someone whose character spoke louder than anything he ever said out loud. He loved the outdoors deeply. Whether he was out in his truck, his side-by-side or four-wheeler, that was his happy place. He didn’t love noise or attention, found peace in the simple things. He had a passion for anything with an engine and wheels, which came out through his love of Nascar and Muscle cars. While rushing to work he always checked to see who was leading the race.

Rick had many good friends, the kind of friendships that were built on trust and loyalty, and years of shared moments. He loved wildlife and always kept a bag of bird seed in his car.

He never missed the opportunity to show his sense of humor through teasing, a dry joke or making a funny comment. He was loved by his community.

Never loud, but always there, always present, always loving.

Born in Fredericton, NB he was the son of late Perley Morehouse and Elizabeth “Betty” (Burke). Ricky was employed with Irving JD Sawmill in Doaktown, NB. Besides his wife, Rick is survived by three daughters Jillian Morehouse (Perry) of Blackville, NB; Aimee Morehouse of Chatham, NB; Samantha Morehouse (Wassel) of Amherst NS; sister: Lori-Anne Morehouse (Brian) of Doaktown NB; brothers: Trevor Morehouse (Shawna) of Storeytown, NB; Stephen of Fredericton; grandchildren: Leah and Abby-Rae as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026, from 12PM-1:45PM followed by the funeral service beginning at 2PM with Pastor Dave Storey officiating. Burial will take place in the Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery, Doaktown, NB, later in the spring.
