Patricia Ann Logan-Hale passed peacefully on Thursday October 16th.

She is survived by her 3 children - Leanne (Shawn), David (Toby), Glenn (Kim), and sister Dorothy Lane Hale. Pat loved her 8 grandchildren - Lauren (Matt), Dylan (Lina), Brady, Ryan (Megan), Gehrig, Celia, Josh, and Mya. She had a special love for her new great grandson, Clarrie.

Pat is pre deceased by her husband, Clarrie, son, Todd, and her mother, father, sister, and brother.

Pat was born in Bay Comeau, Quebec, June 1, 1946, and moved to Westville Nova Scotia as a young girl. She met her love, Clarrie, at Sobeys where they both worked and 12 days after turning 18, she married him. They were married for 57 years.

They moved to Newcastle in 1970. Mom worked at the Royal Bank, Cadogan Publishing, co-owned a yarn store, and then returned to school in 1990. She graduated with honours from social work at STU. She worked in child protection with the Department of Social Development in Newcastle, Natoaganeg, and Esgenoôpetitj. She loved her career but loved the children more.

Our mom was gifted with artistic talent - from painting, knitting, sewing, quilting, rug hooking, and cross stitch. Her work was exceptional!! She rarely followed a pattern, she would make them herself.

Our mom said she hated to cook but, she was gifted in the kitchen. She planned holiday dinners and always had special dishes made and tried new recipes on us.

Now we would be totally selfish if we didn’t mention the dogs!!! Our mom loved her dogs. We had dogs growing up but, we lost her when she met her first West Highlander Terrier, other dogs did not exist. She would attend dog shows, as a spectator, which lead to her meeting the people that would guide her along her way of showing her own dogs. This lead to breeding dogs. She was so particular who received her dogs as she loved every one of them so much. She had championship dogs and new people all over in the dog world. I would have to say that mom’s highlight in her dog showing career would be showing at the Westminster Dog Show in New York

Our mom always had a way of making each one of us feel special in our own way, whether it be on a one on one trip or taking one of us out of school for a one on one lunch date and shopping. She was always there for us. She also, had a way of making others feel special by helping when someone needing help.

A huge thank you to the staff at Mount Saint Joseph. Your care was greatly appreciated.

We love you mom, we will miss you mom. Give dad and Todd hugs from us
