The Chatham Head Tigers evened the series against the Newcastle Cardinals with a 9-1 victory last night at the Waldo Henderson Memorial Field.
The Cardinals took the first game 9-4 August 28th with power hitting from the top of their line-up. But the Tigers came roaring back the next night scoring 6 runs in the second inning thanks to a few Cardinal errors.
Sonny Newman pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits and 4 walks in a solid outing.
Tiger bats had Cardinal pitching on the ropes the entire game. Losier brothers Matt, Patrick and Kevin had 6 of the 9 RBIs for the Tigers.
Game 3 goes this evening at 7:30 at Memorial Field in Newcastle.
