Jeanne Mary Cripps of Napan, New Brunswick, passed away at Percy’s Place on May 18, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, on December 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Xavier and Josephine (Comeau) Brideau. She was a homemaker, and attended St. Michael’s Basilica.
She was a loving and caring mother, with a big heart and a smile that would light up the room. As her family grew, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She helped to care for them, and truly enjoyed spoiling them.
In her younger years, she had a flare for travel and enjoyed wonderful food, and meeting new people. She also had a true love for animals which she has passed on to many of us in the family.
Jeanne is survived by one daughter, Eleanor Lewis-Stewart (Dale) of Napan, New Brunswick; one son, James Lewis (Linda) of Napan, New Brunswick; two granddaughters, Kayla and Kylie-Jean; four grandsons, Shane (Lisa), Shawn (Lacey), Jade (Karie), and James; eleven great-grandchildren, Leah, Bobbilynn, Kaylie, Lexy, Aidan, Tanner, Avery, Reid, Jace, Michael James, and Kiana; one sister, Annie Robinson of Miramichi, New Brunswick; two brothers, Leo Brideau of Oshawa, Ontario, and Walter Brideau (Joy) of Saint John, New Brunswick; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Frank Cripps and James Lewis; and three brothers, Jimmy, Frank, and Melburn.
