It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Cecilia "Grammie" Brophy on October 21, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Blackville, NB.
Cecilia was the daughter of the late Cecil and Mary White and is predeceased by her beloved brother Leo White. She leaves behind her dear sister Phyllis Hill (Bernie) and sisters-in-law Linda White and Faye Sobey (Cameron), who will remember her with love and affection.
Cecilia was a loving and proud mother to Sally Brophy (Ricky), grandmother to Colin Harris (Kristin) and Brandie McCormack (Scott), and great-grandmother to Claire, Cole, Sawyer, and Max. Her family was the heart of her life, and she was theirs. She also leaves behind her special partner Miller Coughlan, her dear friend Cathy Adams, her kind neighbour Pete Mountain and her treasured nieces and nephews.
A dedicated employee of Zellers for many years and a devout member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Blackville, Cecilia was known for her warm smile, strong work ethic, and kind spirit. After retirement, she volunteered with the St. John's Ambulance and with her church. She embraced life’s simple pleasures — dancing, gardening, attending concerts and social gatherings, spending time with friends and family, and never missing a chance to cheer on her grandchildren at their sports games and music performances. Her love and pride for them were boundless.
Cecilia's presence brought joy and comfort to those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all whose lives she touched.
The family would like to thank Dr. Arthur Losier, Dr. Gerard Losier and Extra Mural nurses Krissy Briggs, Holly Sturgeon, Emily Murphy and Carmella Jardine for their care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 12 o’clock with Fr. Paul Doucet officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Blackville School Elementary Activities or a charity of your choice.
