Born in Sunny Corner, she was the daughter of the late Harriet and Elvin Tozer. She worked for NB Telephone Co. and in various government positions, serving in clerical and supervisory roles before becoming a homemaker and full-time mother to her four daughters. Alda was a lifelong member of St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church in Sunny Corner. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, and took great pride in caring for those she loved, treasuring time spent with each of them.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Sherman Sherrard of Sunny Corner; four daughters, Judy Denby (Peter) of Maine, Heather Mutch (Leslie) of Lyttleton, Harriet Silliker (Jeff) of Sunny Corner, and Kara Sherrard (Brian) of Ottawa; two sisters, Betty Field (late Stewart) of Murray Corner and Mona Tozer of Miramichi; two brothers, Joseph Tozer (late Myrna) of Truro, NS, and Vernon Tozer (Pauline) of Brantford, ON; five grandchildren, Emma, Jillian, Jace, Henry, and Cecelia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
