Agatha Mary Woods

July 5, 1931 - April 15, 2025

It is with deep sadness that the family of Agatha Woods (nee Comeau) announces her passing on April 15th, 2025, at the age of 93. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Degrace) and Philip Comeau.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Raymond Woods, and her sisters Helen (Danny) Woods and Cecilia (Hamford) Hachey.

She is survived by her sister Irene (Allan) White. Agatha was a devoted and loving mother of Ivan (Carolyn) Woods, Eileen (Jerry) Bowes, Greg (Tammy) Woods and Joan (Kumao) Estes. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Eric, Allison, Jennifer, Shannon, Jacob, Breanne and Kenzie, as well as her four great grandchildren.

A dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Church, Agatha shared her many talents through her leadership in the Liturgical Environment Ministry and her long-time participation in the church choir. For many years, she could be found volunteering at church suppers and events. She was also an active member of the Catholic Women’s League. Above all, Agatha was a beautiful, loving mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life, and her home was the heart of countless family gatherings. She was a talented seamstress and spent her free time in numerous crafts and hobbies, creating many cherished items for her loved ones. She loved the outdoors and being in nature with many special memories at her niece's fishing camp on the Dungarvon river.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to her caregivers, Donna Bernard and Rose Coughlan, for their devoted and compassionate care. Special thanks also to Extra-Mural, the staff of the Miramichi Regional Hospital Emergency department and Floor 2 West, her physicians Dr. Gerard Losier, Dr. Isabelle Cormier, Dr. Michelle Casey, Dr. Syed Ahmed, and to the staff at Percy’s Place, where she spent her final days with grace and comfort.

Visitation will be held at Jardine Funeral Home, 597 King George Highway, Miramichi on Monday April 21st from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd at 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Anthony Das Papu officiating.
