The death of John “Sonny” Noel Dedam Jr. husband of Annabella Dedam of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, occurred on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Bathurst Hospital at the age of 64. Born in Miramichi, NB, he was the son of the late John Sr. and Lillian (Augustine) Dedam.

Besides his wife, Sonny is survived by: stepson: Jason Joe of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, granddaughter: Kaya Anne Joe; siblings: Tina Dedam, Marguerite Dedam (Ivan) all of Esgenoôpetitj, NB; Janice Mallais (Yvon) of Tabusintac, NB; Carol Ann Marie Dedam; Edward Dedam (Marie) and Wilbur Dedam (Irene) all of Esgenoôpetitj, NB; godchildren: Chrissy Dedam, Lexi Paul and Simon Savoie as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Sonny is predeceased by siblings: Robert John Augustine, Joseph Joe Dedam, Michael Dedam, Alfred Dedam, Isabel Dedam, Darlene Dedam and Mary Dedam.

The family will receive visitors at Sonny’s home, 68 Old Bridge Road, Esgenoôpetitj, NB on Saturday, October 25, 2025, after 7 PM and again on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11 AM.
