Clarence Egbert “Bert” MacDonald, 65, of Nelson, Miramichi, NB, passed away on January 5, 2026, with his wife and daughter by his side.
Born on December 14, 1960, Bert’s life was not without its challenges, but he met them with a quiet strength and a heart that never stopped loving. He loved deeply and without hesitation, often reminding those closest to him, “I love you with all my heart.”
Bert was a devoted husband to Wendy and a proud father to Kaitlin. He was overjoyed to become a Grampie and took immense pride in his grandson, James. He also shared a special bond with Lucy, his loyal dog, who was always by his side and brought him joy every day.
Bert showed his love through action - whether helping with home renovations, fixing car troubles, or simply being there when his family needed him. He shared his passions for snowmobiling and concerts with his daughter, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Bert worked at UPM (Repap) from 1985 to 2007 and later took on labour and trucking jobs, never shying away from a hard day’s work.
Bert will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Wendy Tower MacDonald (stepson Kevin White); his daughter Kaitlin MacDonald (Andrew Carroll); and his grandchildren (James MacDonald, Lila Moorhouse & Hudson Moorhouse).
He will also be remembered by his brothers and sisters, Ambrose MacDonald, Billy MacDonald, Leslie Greene (Gerry), Kitty MacDonald, and Sandy MacDonald; his sisters-in-law, Debbie Cromwell (Richard) and Connie Duncan (Stewart); his brother-in-law, Fshumayrqan MacDonald; his nieces and nephews, Tina MacDonald Jardine, Kathy Savard, Tammy Greene, Robert Greene, and Gregory MacDonald; as well as many friends whose lives he touched.
He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Lorraine (Cox) MacDonald; his brother, Frederick MacDonald; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy MacDonald.
The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 7-9pm.The funeral service will take place from Jardine Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11 o'clock.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BGC Miramichi, the Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of one’s choice.
