Robert (Bobby) Joseph McNamara

1985 -2025

It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bobby) Joseph McNamara on May 3th, 2025 at the Arcola Health Centre.

Bobby was pre-deceased by his father Brian McNamara, his uncle Roger McNamara, Grandparents David and Marguerite (Cogswell) McNamara, Grandparents Floyd and Rosemary Russell, Uncle Kim Russell and Uncle Aarron Russell.

Bobby is survived by his two loving children Aurora and Roman McNamara, his mother Rhonda and stepfather John Sommers, brother Brad (Sarah) Russell along with their children Mackenzie (Jack) White, Emma and Ethan. As well as numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins who reside on the East Coast.

Bobby was born on November 14th, 1985 to Brian McNamara and Rhonda Sommers in Miramichi, N.B. at 11:45 am weighing in at 9lbs 14oz. He was the apple of his father’s eye where in it had been stated that he could do no wrong. Bobby had a love of sports, playing hockey, soccer and rugby in his younger years.  Hockey though, was his favourite sport of all. He was a true and dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs fan and maintained his love for his team despite their multiple misses at a Stanley Cup win. Anyone who knew Bobby knew he was a big kid at heart. He loved the Ninja Turtles and tormenting which carried well into his adult years.

After high school, Bobby attended the Memorial University in Newfoundland where he worked on a degree for anthropology.

Bobby lived in a few different provinces within Canada throughout the course of his life. He moved from Miramichi, NB to British Columbia as a young boy, back to Miramichi for his adolescent years before eventually moving and settling into Saskatchewan.

Bobby began a career in the oilfield working similar jobs as his stepfather John from service rigs to drilling rigs. In between, when the oilfield was down, he worked alongside a local builder doing Carpentry. Bobby wore a few different hats; he dabbled in electrical for a short period of time while also serving in the Carievale Fire Department for a few of the years he resided in Carievale, Sk.

Bobby moved to Carievale, SK where he started his family in February of 2019, welcoming his baby girl Aurora and later adding to the mix, his little boy Roman in June of 2021. Both Aurora and Roman were the apple of his eyes. Aurora was and always will be his little princess while Roman; whom he lovingly dubbed "Bean" he tried so hard to have follow in his footsteps for his love of Ninja Turtles. Aurora and Roman will always remember and cherish their memories of going to the park, bowling, swimming, obstacle courses created by their dad, movie nights, constant tormenting along with trips for ice cream and McDonalds with their Dad.

Bobby will be forever remembered for his heart of gold, goofy nature and sense of humor.

There will be no formal service at this time.

Hall Funeral Services in Estevan is caring for Bobby’s family – Yvonne Clark, Funeral Director.
