Rosemary Kathleen Losier of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away at Percy’s Place on May 16, 2025, at the age of 69.

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, on October 7, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Barry and Marion (Steele) Losier.

Rosemary was a Lawyer for many years. She earned her law degree from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in 1980, and opened her own practice in her hometown of Chatham.

She lived her life with kindness, curiosity and joy. She was passionate about helping the community, and advocating for mental health issues. She was involved with Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Caring Friends, and other local organizations.

She was an avid gardener, and loved to entertain her family and ever-growing circle of friends. A sandy beach with palm trees was her favourite place to be. She adored Shediac, where she had many memorable vacations with her loved ones.

Rosemary was affectionately known as Nana Rosemessy to her granddaughters. She always knew how to captivate the kids by coming up with fun, creative and messy games. Her friends were also incredibly important to her. She treasured the decades of loyal friendship with them all.

Rosemary will be greatly missed by her husband, Rick Melanson; two step-daughters, Sarah Melanson (Jeremy), and Leanne Melanson (Tommy), all of Fredericton; three grandchildren, Mallory, Allison, and Amber; two sisters, Eloise and Anne of Miramichi; and one brother, Christopher (Suzanne) of Moncton.
