In Loving Memory of Rita Adams

1946 – 2025

Marie “Rita” (Duplessis) Adams of Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick, passed away at Percy’s Place, Miramichi, New Brunswick, on August 3, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born in Eel River Bridge, New Brunswick, on March 15, 1946, Marie “Rita” Adams was the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Mazerolle) Duplessis. Rita dedicated much of her life to caregiving, a profession that reflected her compassionate spirit. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of Sainte-Anne’s Catholic Church, where she joyfully contributed to her parish community in every way she could, sharing her love and commitment through her active participation.

Rita is survived by her son, Robert Adams of Newmarket, Ontario; three brothers: Robert Duplessis (Lorraine) and Edward Duplessis (Leoda) of Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick, and Edgar Duplessis of Pointe-Sapin, New Brunswick; as well as nieces: Barbara, Joanne, and Cathy; and step-niece, Paula. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Daniel McIntyre; and her seven brothers: Alphonse, Louis, Philbert, Lionel, Francois, Lawrence, and Mathias.

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sainte-Anne’s Catholic Church, 5351 Route 117, Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., with The Reverend Father Jean Belisle as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Sainte-Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick.
