Peter MacDonald, born April 22, 1945 in Chatham, New Brunswick, passed away at Mount St. Joseph on December 10th, 2025. His 80-year journey has come full circle.
Peter was a passionate school principal and teacher for over 40 years, dedicating his life to inspiring Inuit, First Nations, and Chinese students to realize their potential. In 2007, he was given Time Canada’s Learning Through the Arts Commitment Award. In 2008 he was award the Order of New Brunswick. Then in 2022, he received the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. These accomplishments reflect his love for teaching and genuine care for all his students.
Peter’s unconditional love for his family and friends knew no bounds. HIs big heart and kindness have left a lasting impact on the lives of many. He will be forever loved and remembered.
Peter will be dearly missed by his wife Juxia MacDonald; two daughters: Natasha and Terri MacDonald; two sons: Lawson MacDonald and Jing Nie (Ting); and three grandchildren: Louis, Oscar, and Lucas Nie. He is also survived by his sister Alic Allison and two brothers: Terry and Charlie MacDonald. He is now joining his mother and father Dorthy and Lawson MacDonald, along with his daughter Roseann MacDonald, on the other side.
