The death of Patrick “Pat” Diotte, husband of Gladys (Furlong) Diotte, of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Percy’s Place at the age of 89. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late James and Florence (Albert) Diotte.

Pat was a former employee of Heath Steele Mines and the Department of Transportation. He also served in the Royal Canadian Navy. He lived a life of volunteering with minor hockey, ball and senior hockey. He also served on the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Parish council, and was a member of the Newcastle Town Council. He also served on the board for Miramichi Senior Citizens Home as chairman for many years, and was president of the NB Nursing Home Association. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters: Beverley of Fredericton, Lisa (Stacy) Adams of Miramichi, NB; sons: Steven (Cindy) of Maple Glen, NB, Michael of Sussex, NB; sister: Mary Palmer of Winnipeg, MB; sister-in-law: Muriel Sherrard of Miramichi, NB; grandchildren: Hillary (Thomas), Patrick (Mackenzie), Riley (Tyler), Jack, Ava, AJ (Taylor), Amy (Owen); great grandchildren: Leo and Max; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents he is predeceased by son: Patrick; brothers: Vincent (Florence), Rev. Samuel, John; chosen brother: Jerry Donahue. 

The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 11:30-1pm. Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated at St. Michael’s Basilica following the visitation at 1:30pm with Fr. Antonio Reyes officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
