Edward "Ned" Ivan Jardine, of Boom Road, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 76 surrounded by his family.
Born in Sillikers and raised in Quarryville, he was the son of the late Clive and Annie Pearl (McAllister) Jardine. He owned and operated his own trucking business. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 years Rosaleen (Parks) Jardine of Boom Road; daughters Joetta Dunn (Perley) and Lisa Brophy (Adrian) both of Strathadam; sister Claudette Cavanagh of Quarryville; three brothers Donnie (Pauline) of Warwick, Terry (Bernadette) of Bartholomew, and Hubert (Marie) of Quarryville; sister-in-law Janice Jardine of Blackville; grandchildren Kathleen Dunn, Meghan and Thomas Brophy; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his youngest brother Garth Jardine; and mother-in-law Kathleen Parks.
Those who knew him, knew he was a staunch liberal and he served many years as Vice President of Miramichi-Bay Neguac Liberal Association and recently on the executive of the Miramichi West Liberal Association. He was a long-standing member of the Northumberland County Truckers Association and served as Secretary for many years. He was also a representative of the former Sunny Corner Local Service District and a member of Teamsters Local 927.
