The death of Maxine Mary (Vickers) MacDonald wife of James MacDonald of Gray Rapids, NB, occurred on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Percy’s Place at the age of 65. Born in Newcastle, NB, she is the daughter of Ellen (Harris) Vickers and the late Maxwell Vickers. Maxine retired from Little Forks Fishing Camp where she worked for over 20 years. Maxine’s love for cooking lead her to work at various fishing camps over the years. She had a great love for her grandchildren, enjoyed playing bingo, cards, going out for breakfast and shopping in the “States.” 

Besides her husband of 49 years, and her mother, Maxine is survived by her children: Megan Donahue (Derek) of Gray Rapids, NB; Jamie MacDonald (Amanda) of Blackville, NB; brother: Bentley Vickers (late Rebecca) of Barnettville, NB; special cousin: Ellen Jardine of Upper Derby, NB; grandchildren: Hunter, Cheyanne, Jaylyn and Jayda as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive visitors at the United Pentecostal Church, Gray Rapids on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the United Pentecostal Church, Gray Rapids on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 2 PM with Rev. Graham Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
