It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful, beloved mother, Judith Ann Theresa Bryan, which occurred peacefully and surrounded by family on March 26, 2026 at Parkstone Enhanced Care facility in Halifax, N.S.

She was born in Halifax on June 6, 1949 to the late Medville Henry Bryan and Mary Christina (Driscoll) Bryan, but moved at age 14 with her widowed mother and six siblings to Douglastown, NB to be with family after her father's passing.

Anybody who knew Mom can understand the difficulty in confining her personality to a summary.

She was charm and adventure incarnate.

Multi-talented and ever adaptable, her drive and ambition led her through a wide variety of careers which included time as a stewardess for Eastern Provincial Airlines, a dental assistant for Drs. Marchand/Gauthier and Matchett, Campaign Coordinator for the NB Lung Association, and the unforgettable voice behind DJ Deanna Moore for CFAN radio, Miramichi. The final position she held was as advertising manager for Urquhart MacDonald in NS.

Always a clever wordsmith with an affinity for writing, Mom applied her talents in poetry composition later in her life, several of which received placement in competition. The Miramichi and the times she grew up in were a frequent muse for her.

Among the imparted gifts we are thankful for are her unwavering resilience, her creativity, her love of character, her sense of adventure, and her sharp sense of humour. Although no stranger to adversity, Mom chose to live life light enough to always see the humour and her beautiful, infectious laugh will echo in the hearts of her loved ones forever.

Words cannot convey how loved she made her family feel, nor how deeply she will be missed.

Mom is survived by her four children: Tyler Black of Ottawa, ON, Ava-Lauren Black (Andy MacIntosh) of Miramichi, Spencer Black (Jamie) of Halifax, NS, and Jordan Black of Chestermere, AB; former husband and our father Glenn Black (Brenda) of Miramichi; five grandsons: Lynkon, Landon, Benjamin, Louis, and Edward; sisters Cathy Bryan of New Hamburg, ON and Debby McLean (Kevin) of Fredericton, NB; brothers Paul Bryan of Miramichi, NB and Phil Bryan (Susan) of Ottawa, ON as well as many loving and loved nieces and nephews.

Aside from her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Stephen Bryan and her sister Mary Bonita Kirk.

The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Samuel's Roman Catholic Church at a later date.

Our sincere gratitude is extended to Parkstone Enhanced Care facility in Halifax, NS for the compassion and care they provided in the final stages of Mom’s life.

In Mom’s memory, donations may be made to the Miramichi Food Bank. Messages of condolence can be sent through the funeral home website: www.miramichifunerals.ca
