The death of Mary Jean (Jean) Brideau, wife of the late William (Billy) Brideau of Bridgeview Hall, occurred Tuesday July 22, 2025 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 88.

Born in Chatham NB, she was the daughter of the late Alma (Petrie) and William Robinson.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Mary (Patrick), Dianne (Kenny), and Colleen (Steve) and her son Donald (Debbie), who will miss her dearly. Grandchildren: Robert, Ashley, Jason, Hannah, Jacob, Lucas, Erica, Kurtis, and Carla; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family, She was predeceased by sisters Margaret, Mabel, and Ida; brothers William, John, James, and Alfred.

Family was everything to Jean. She passed on valuable words of wisdom, common sense, faith and a great sense of humour. Jean always had a quick-witted comeback that made everyone laugh. She will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Upon Jean’s request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, NB on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM with The Reverend Father David Rioux as Celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Bridgeview Hall for the exceptional care she received while a resident there. Your kindness meant so much to Jean and her family.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
