The death of Joseph “Jacob” Augustine, husband of Jaunita (Ward) Augustine of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, occurred on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 75. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Isabel (Metallic) Augustine.

 Besides his wife, Jacob is survived by daughters: Joyce Ann of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Jill Ann (Jeremey) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Bridgette Gloud of Nova Scotia, Almira of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Star (Andrew Peters) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Mimiges of Esgenoôpetitj, NB; sons: Joe Ralph, Lloyd, Dave Andre, Gitpoo, Segeoat, Moin all of Esgenoôpetitj, NB; 32 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister: Lucy (Gerry) of Neguac, NB; brothers; Lloyd, Frank, Noel (Elsie) all of Esgenoôpetitj, NB; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
