The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has recently been notified by Quad NB and Snowmobile NB that they will not be pursuing the use of the old Anderson Bridge in Miramichi for recreational purposes. 

 This decision comes after a careful review of the structure and an unknown scope of additional work required to make the bridge safe to use. As such, DTI will begin preparations for the demolition of the structure.

 DTI respects the open dialogue and frank discussions with Quad NB and Snowmobile NB, and we understand and respect their decision. Of course we will continue to work closely with them in the future as deemed necessary.
