George Alfred Willoughby of Miramichi, New Brunswick, and formerly of Oshawa, Ontario, passed away in Miramichi, New Brunswick, on May 29, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born in Oshawa, Ontario, on April 2, 1946, he was the son of the late George and Martha (Hicks) Willoughby.  George worked in Senior Management for General Electric for many years. 

George is survived two daughters, Ann Hubbell (Lee) of Oshawa, Ontario, and Deanna Sundberg (Todd) of Havelock, Ontario; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Alexandra (Ryan), Breanna (Oskar), and Ashley (Jake); two great-grandchildren, Kaid and Rosie; two sisters: Rose Ellis (Don) of Whitby, Ontario, and Marie Tsachuk of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Leona (Ferguson) Willoughby; and two brothers, Harold and Job.

As per George’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Interment will be held in Ontario at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
