We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ernest Bert MacDonald on May 26, 2025, at Bridgeview Hall. Born on July 23, 1945, in Glen William, PEI, he was the beloved son of Warren and Hannah MacDonald.
Ernest had a passion for woodworking, often spending hours in his garage crafting various creations. He was an avid supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays, enjoying the thrill of attending games while proudly sporting their jerseys. Music was another great love of his; he relished listening to all genres and, in his younger days, could often be found dancing along. A devoted Elvis Presley fan, he even sported the iconic hairstyle to show his admiration.
Ernest spent much of his adult life to Moncton, where he raised his two sons, Chris and Scott. Known for his strong work ethic, he embraced hard manual labor, taking pride in every task, he undertook. He worked at Zellers, where he managed the warehouse, ensuring that all merchandise was efficiently received and organized.
He is survived by his son, Chris (Eileen) of Frankfort, ON; his brother, David (the late Carla) of Maple Ridge, BC; and his sisters, Shirley Taylor (the late Carman) of Sillikers and Karen Hambrook (Al Washburn) of Miramichi. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Wayne, his son Scott, his common-law wife Carol Trueman, and brothers-in-law Carman Taylor and Grady Hambrook.
In accordance with Ernest's wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
