David Arnold Young of Wayerton, NB, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Miramichi Hospital at the age of 75. Born in Newcastle, NB, on August 1, 1950, he was the 8th child of the late John and Monica (Hubbard) Young. As a young boy David had a vivid imagination and a thirst for knowledge. He became a meat cutter and an orderly, a member of the labor union, and even took an online course to become an ordained minister. One of David’s loves was music, he could pick up almost any instrument and play you a tune or sing you a song.
David leaves behind his daughters: Cathy Young and Nadine Young, granddaughters: Kristy Matchett and Anna Brigden; grandsons: Quinn Brophy and Donald Brigden; sisters: Monica Davidson-MacDonald (late Reg); Helen Young (Catherine) both of Upper Derby, NB; brothers: Douglas (Marjorie) of Saint John, NB; Donald (Inga) of Barryville, NB; Norman (late Joanne) and Bernard (Marilyn) of Upper Derby, NB; brother-in-law: Frank Hogan; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
