Project Bookmark Canada memorializes Canadian authors with installations of excerpts of their works in locations that are depicted in the work. Until yesterday, July 18, 2025, New Brunswick was the only province without an installation.

In front of about 60 Miramichiers under the hot sun near the location of the train station in Newcastle, an installation was unveiled that shows a passage from David Adams Richard's novel, "Friends of Meager Fortune" -- the passage is about the homecoming of a conflicted war hero and the community that greeted him at the train station.

The location of the installation is near the train station, but also in a developing recreation area on the former Harkins property.
