Cindy Morrell

Cindy Morrell

  • May 19, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cindy Morrell announce her passing on May 13th, 2025, at the age of 64. Cindy’s life was a testimony of her faith, love for her family, and a genuine care for others.

Raised in New Brunswick, Cindy (Nin) had a real love for the Miramichi. The “Henderson Street Kids,” Estey's Fish and Chips, and lobster feasts were always remembered fondly. The time spent with her family and many cousins down at their cottage were cherished, often shared, memories. Lifetime bonds were forged and she will be greatly missed by her siblings and extended East Coast family.

After high school, Cindy attended college to become a nurse. Her nursing job at Huron Lodge, brought her to Elliot Lake, where she met her husband Bill. On December 4th, 1982, they were married in the Lee Valley Hall, and together they started a dairy farm in the rural Massey area.

Cindy loved working in her yard and being a “Home Maker” truly brought her great joy. She was a fantastic cook and all were welcome at her table, with or without a prior invitation. It was a common occurrence to simply set an extra plate at her dinner table to accommodate a drop in. Her desserts, especially her pies were legendary and no meal was complete without a homemade treat. She loved to laugh and sing - anything slightly scampy was right up her alley.

Aside from her faith, her family was her top priority and she put them first in every way. The loss of her care will leave a huge hole in the heart of her loving husband, Bill; her three cherished children, Kara (Kristopher) Lassman, Rick (Stacy) Morrell, Calvin (Stephanie) Morrell; and her dearly loved grandchildren, Chase, Chance, Charity, Grace, Ashton, Madeline, Mack, Levi, Conner, Breah, Olivia, and Ava. She was ecstatic to become a young Grammy at 45, and was always game for any adventures the kids could dream up. She leaves behind her tight knit family, full of love and real friendship. She fostered these kinds of relationships and viewed her families closeness as a real blessing. She will be greatly missed.

Making friends wherever she went with her uncanny ability to talk to anyone, Cindy will be grieved by so many who felt her authentic care and kindness. A large community of friends, nieces, nephews, and close relatives will feel the loss of her keenly.

Cindy graciously accepted and suffered through her cancer journey, facing it with an honest and pragmatic approach; while making the best of every good day, in a way that only she could.

The family extends deep gratitude to all who enriched Cindy’s life with joy, comfort, love, and friendship; especially throughout the hardest days.
