It is with broken hearts that the family of Audrey Louise Savoy (nee O'Donnell) announce her peaceful passing at the age of 82, on August 16, 2024, at Pine Grove Nursing Home in Fredericton, NB.
Born July 1, 1942, to the late George and Annie (Gillis) O'Donnell she was the fourth child in her family of six siblings - Margaret, Leonard, Lorraine, Frank, and Linda. They shared many moments together in their family home on Lobban Avenue in the former town of Chatham, New Brunswick.
Audrey began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse before marrying the love of her life, John Orson Savoy on May 25, 1963. They began their married life as a military family moving to Fredericton in 1963, where Audrey worked at the Victoria General, and where their cherished daughter, Sherri was born in 1964.
Military life took Audrey and her family many places. To Germany in 1966, Ottawa, Ontario, in 1969 and Greenwood, Nova Scotia, in 1974. During those years, Audrey devoted herself to caring for her daughter and husband before refreshing her love for nursing and restarting her career in Middleton, Nova Scotia, before the family returned to the former town of Chatham, New Brunswick, in 1979. She worked at the Miramichi Senior Citizens home for 26 years until she retired in 2005. She had many stories to share from her vast experiences in life, travels and nursing. She loved to share her few German words and funny tales about the antics of raising a spirited daughter.
She took on her most important role in life in 1982 when her granddaughter, Cindy was born and again in 1986 with the birth of her grandson, Corey. Audrey was a devoted ...
