The death of Patrick “Patty” Andrew Hallihan, husband of Kathy (Vickers) Hallihan of South Cains River, NB, occurred at Percy’s Place, Miramichi, NB, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in South Cains River, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Burke) Hallihan. Patty was a member of St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, Blackville, NB, he was retired from the Atlantic Institution where he worked in Purchasing Management. Over the years, Patty was involved in many organizations, including 25 years with the Blackville Firemen’s Club, two terms with the Blackville Village Council as well as a number of years with the Church Council.

For those who knew Patty, the Fall was his favourite time of the year with his love of the outdoors. His passion for moose has been passed not only to his family, but also many within our community. 

Besides his wife, Patty is survived by his children: Rodney (Roxane) and Ashley (Kelly); siblings: Laura of South Cains, NB; Glenna (late Aloysius) of Blackville, NB; Josephine (Lionel) of North Vancouver, BC; Mary Anne (late John) of St. Stephen’s, NB; Murdock (Rosemary) of Nelson, NB; Hughie (Ruth) of Gray Rapids, NB; Carl (Ruby) of Gray Rapids, NB; Danny (Gail) of Chelmsford, NB; Leslie (late Lou) of Blackville, NB; his grandchildren: Ryley (Sabrina), K.C., Malia, Lainey, and Janna as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Patty is predeceased by his in-laws: Cameron and Doris Vickers.

The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 5-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, Blackville, NB on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11 AM with Fr. Paul Doucet officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with reception at the Father AA McKinnon Hall afterwards.

The family would like to thank the staff at Miramichi Regional Hospital especially Dr. Gerard Losier and Dr. Sanjay Siddhartha for their exceptional care. A special thank you to the staff at Percy’s Place for the compassion and amazing care provided at their facility.
