Edward “Ed” Warren, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at his residence. Born in Sunny Brae (Moncton), NB, he was the son of the late Colin and Hazel (Brace) Warren. Ed was a Red Seal Welder/Pipefitter dedicated to United Association for over 55 years. His experience “in the trade” was in demand and took him to every Province in Canada (with exception of Quebec), even working on the construction of the Alaskan pipeline!
Since 1989 Ed called Miramichi home; yet he lived with deep respect and unwavering dedication for his Kent County roots and people and places who shaped him.
Ed was a faithful member of St. James Presbyterian Church holding positions in the following capacities: Board of Director; church maintenance; men’s choir group and Thursday morning Bible study. . In his younger years he was a volunteer firefighter in Beersville as well as was a member of Beersville Oldtimers Baseball team. Upon retirement Ed enjoyed watching his favorite team = the Toronto Blue Jays, especially so this past season. HIs presence will be missed at The Miramichi Timberwolves games with his buddies in Section 19 ; Last but not least Ed was the biggest fan Kyle and Ali could ever wish for, supporting all their outstanding scholastic and athletic achievements.
Ed is survived by his spouse of 32 years, Mary MacIntosh-Warren; stepson: Allison MacIntosh (Robin) of Miramichi, NB; step grandchildren: Kyle and Ali. Also left to mourn are his siblings: Mary MacGlashing (late Ozwald), Carol Wenzel (late Elwood) of Tisdale, SK, Blaine (Eva) of Moncton, NB, John (Pat) of Clairville, NB, Steven (Shelia) of Dryden, ON; sister-in-law: Sylvia Warren of Harcourt, NB; two long time friends: Ralph Reid and Blaine Walsh . Ed is also survived by sons: Duane (Dianne) of Beersville, NB, Joe (Amy) of Kitchener, ON and 5 granddaughters all of Ontario; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Be assured he loved all of you very much.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by brothers: Alvin (Betty) and Everett.
The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Saturday, September 13, from 1:30-3pm. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3 o’clock with Rev. Sandy Sutherland officiating. Interment will take place at St. Andrews Presbyterian Cemetery, Clairville, NB. on Sunday afternoon Sept. 14. at 3pm.
