June 25th weekend features several family events
There were several organized events on the river this weekend, and MO))) managed to get to three of them:
1. Ellis Street Community garden organizers were clearing more land to increase the number of garden boxes available, and were showing off their storage shed with rain water collection.
2. There was a chalk art festival in Downtown Chatham, with artists from all over, and kids getting in on the action too. the artwork will be available for viewing on Sunday as well.
3. A First Responder appreciation day took place in Queen Elizabeth Park with a god turnout of families who wanted to pay tribute to police, fire, ground search and rescue, as well as paramedics. Children have their stuffed animals checked up by a paramedic, and take part in fire equipment demonstrations.
