Rev. Jerry Vander Veen, born March 25, 1938, in Veenwouden, Friesland, the Netherlands, passed away peacefully at home in Regina, Saskatchewan on Monday, August 5, 2024 at age 86.
Jerry was predeceased by his wife Rolla Jean (Taylor) Vander Veen, his parents Eelke and Martje (Vaatstra) Vander Veen and his brother Albert and sister Greta.
Jerry is survived by his three daughters Nancy Vander Veen Campbell (Jonathan), Carolyn Vander Veen, Susan (Vander Veen) Findley (Christopher), his four grandchildren Murielle, Maibrie, Mallori (Luke)Taylor, Maxwell and his siblings Melvin, Joe, Shirley, Janey, Rick and Carol.
Jerry graduated Prairie Bible Institute in 1963 with his first degree and at 72 years old, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Theology.
Jerry faithfully served the Lord as a pastor, church planter and missionary. He was the Atlantic Director of the Canadian Sunday School Mission, the Gospel Mission of South America, Canadian Revival Fellowship, Shantyman Ministries and Chaplain with Royal Canadian Legion. Jerry had a heart for soul winning and spoke as an evangelist across Canada, the USA, South America, Central and South America as well as Europe and Africa. He pastored in numerous churches across Canada and in the Kamiah Baptist church in Idaho. Jerry retired as interim pastor at Whitney Baptist church in New Brunswick at aged 82.
