Ronald "Ronnie" Narcisse Barry


Ronald “Ronnie” Narcisse Barry of Miramichi, NB, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, Miramichi, NB, on January 30, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born in Chatham, NB, on June 11, 1941, Ronald Narcisse Barry was the son of the late Richard and Emma (Maillet/Myers) Barry. 

A devoted husband of 50 years to Paula, father to Charles, Aidan, and Angela, and grandfather of Riley and Hilary, Ronnie deeply loved his children and adored his grandchildren. He was a proud member of St. Michael’s Basilica and the Knights of Columbus Council 1219. Throughout his life, he embraced a variety of jobs with dedication, demonstrating a strong work ethic in everything he did.

Ronnie was also a proud “Hiller”, and in his free time, he enjoyed a good game of pool, bowling, darts, and softball. He shot his last eight-ball, bowled his final strike, and hit his last home run with the same enthusiasm and joy that marked his entire life.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Paula (Griffin) Barry; his two sons, Charles Barry (Vicki), Aidan Barry, and daughter, Angela Cobb (Adam), all of Miramichi, NB; grandchildren:  Riley and Hilary; brothers: Arthur, Joseph, Terry, Greg, and Brent; sisters:  Adele, Judy, and Linda; as well, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his parents, brothers:  Richard “Junior”, Robert, Thomas, John “Jack”; as well as by his sisters:  Elizabeth “Betty”, Doris, and Mary.   

Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 2-4 PM, and 7-9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, NB, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11 AM, with The Reverend Father Antonio Reyes as Celebrant.  Interment will take place at a later date in St. Michael’s Cemetery. 

As expressions of sympathy, donations in Ronnie’s memory may be made to St. Michael’s Parish, Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
