Rodney J. Hooper - February 27th, 1950-July 6th, 2024.

The Hooper/Moody family is saddened to announce the passing of Rodney at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, after a period of failing health. Rodney was born and grew up in Back Bay, Charlotte County, NB, the youngest son of the late Catherine (Bessie McCarty) and Sylvester Hooper of Back Bay NB.

He was predeceased by his brothers Harvey and Kenneth and his niece Christine Hall and nephew Dale Hooper.

Rodney is survived by his loving wife Bernice Moody, his daughters Vanessa (Joel Steadman), Lindsey (James O'Hara), Jessica (Jonathan Roy), his grandchildren Griffin and Emma Steadman, Noah and Emersyn Roy.

And his stepchildren: Tina Curran (Gordon); Stephanie Gillespie (Poncho); Dawn Langlois (Pat); grandchildren: Chloe, Nickolas, Maguire, Macaully, Sophie and great grandson: Dawson; and his brothers Charles (Belva), Paul (Rhona), Phillip (Anita), sister-in-laws Verna Hooper and Carolyn Hooper as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rodney worked at several jobs during his life including Point Lepreau construction, Huntsman Marine Lab in St. Andrew’s before going to NBCC St. Andrew's to study Aquaculture. He worked in various roles in the salmon industry in both Charlotte County and Miramichi, remaining in that field until his retirement.
