Rhoda Margaret (Godfrey) Chapman of South Napan, NB, passed away on November 11, 2024, surrounded by love at Shannex RLC Ltd. - Losier Hall, Miramichi, NB, at the age of 82.
Born on May 19, 1942, Rhoda Margaret (Godfrey) Chapman was the daughter of the late John and Vera Jean (Lockerbie) Godfrey of Napan, NB.
Rhoda graduated from Harkins High School with a business focus. She was employed at NBTel’s business office prior to becoming a mother in 1970. In 1986, she returned to the workforce, working at Sears in Chatham, until its closure, and then transferred to Sears in Newcastle, working there until her retirement.
She was an active member of the Napan Women’s Institute, devoting many hours to helping others through this group. She belonged to Carmel United Church, and was a member of their CGIT, and over the years served as Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, and helped out at many church suppers.
Her time spent with her two sisters, Jessie and Jean, were the most cherished, reminiscing about the past, discussing family connections, and always sharing a cup of tea.
Rhoda is survived by her Daughter, Jill (Gary) Flaherty; her son, Mark (Kathy) Chapman; and her Grandson, Rylin Flaherty, all of Napan, NB; her sister, Jean (Archie) Fowlie of Bathurst, NB; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Rhoda was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Olin Chapman; her brother, Perley Godfrey, and his wife Reta; and one sister, Jessie Godfrey Leet. ...
