Police make arrest in alleged cocaine by mail scheme

33 yr old woman to appear in court

In January 2024, the Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU), in collaboration with Canada Post, began an investigation into the trafficking of illicit drugs via the postal service.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the City of Miramichi on February 26th, 2024, by the IEU.

As a result of the search warrant, a 33-year-old female from Miramichi was arrested, and a significant quantity of cocaine was seized.

The female will be appearing in Provincial Court at a later date.

The matter is still under investigation by the IEU.

The New Brunswick IEU is made up of members of the Miramichi Police Force, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and Justice and Public Safety in the Province of New Brunswick.

The public plays an important role in helping reduce, prevent, and solve crime, including the trafficking of illegal drugs. Anyone with information about or who suspects illegal activity in their neighborhood is asked to contact the Miramichi Police Force at 506-623-2124. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can also provide the information to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Salvation Army Kettle Drive Starts November 19th.
