The death of Paul David Treadwell, of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 80. He was the son of the late Aldred Treadwell and Florence (Golding) Leppard, and was born on March 16, 1944 in Britain, during the war. He came to Canada as a toddler by ship into Halifax's Pier 21 with his mother. He then spent the rest of his life in Miramichi (Newcastle).

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Velna (Jardine) Treadwell; son: Scott Treadwell (Tricia); daughter: Paula Grattan (Jeff). He also leaves behind the lights of his life, his grandchildren: Katie, Nicholas and James.

He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his sister: Donna St. Coeur.

Paul was a quiet man who mostly kept to himself. He loved to tease and joke. He could drop an unexpected one-line statement and make his family laugh uncontrollably, because he was so naturally quiet. His family always came first and we knew it. There was never a doubt about how much love he had for all of us. 'Dad's taxi service' ran for many years, even after his kids were grown. 'Poppy's taxi service' also ran many years. Never an actual complaint from him because he was doing things for his kids and grandchildren. His passing leaves a big whole in his family but he will always be remembered with love. ...
