Mary J. A. Reid of Miramichi, NB, passed away at Percy’s Place, Miramichi, on July 7, 2024, at the age of 82.

Born in Whitby, ON, on March 24, 1942, Mary worked in administration at General Motors in Toronto for many years until she and her husband retired and moved to NB in 2008. Quilting was Mary’s passion. She was a long-time member of the Miramichi Quilt Guild and made many quilted products and children’s cloth books which she sold at the Saturday Chatham Farmers’ Market. She was also a member of the Knitting Group at the Hermitage.

She was predeceased by her husband Darle in 2014 and leaves many friends here in Miramichi to mourn her passing.

Thank you to all the nurses and doctors at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital in Moncton, and the Miramichi Dialysis Clinic for your kindness and care.

A special thank you goes to Dr. Gerard Losier and the staff and volunteers at Percy’s Place for your compassionate care of Mary in her last days as well as your kindness to her friends.

Also to be thanked are Mildred Blunston who was Mary’s special angel and all the other angels in her life.
