It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Catherine Rennick, of Beaver Dam, who passed away peacefully on October 12th, 2024 at the DECH after a lengthy illness.
Born in Chatham N.B., on September 23rd, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Dorothy (Cabel) Gorman.
For the last 25 years Catherine worked in special care looking after people with special needs. Catherine dedicated most of her life to trying to help people and animals that needed it most.
Catherine is survived by her husband Paul Rennick, her three children Shawn, Jason (Megan), and Joshua (Victoria), as well as special taken daughter Amanda Powers. Eight grandchildren, Austin, Haiden, Caleiah, Sebastion, Clayton, Olivia, GiGi, and Sadie, her two step-grandchildren, Kameron, and Brook-Lynn, and her great granddaughter Aroura. Her sisters, Donna (Bobby) McDonald, Lorna Trevors, Linda Gorman, Patricia (Jim) Chapman, Brenda (Jim) Hackett, and Cora (Patty) O’Hearn, and her brothers, Norman (Debbie) Cabel, Tom (Kathy) Gorman, Brett (Nancy) Gorman, Bart (Rebecca) Gorman, Scott (Tracey) Gorman, and Laurie (Shelley) Gorman, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents, Catherine is predeceased by her brother Bobby Gorman, and brother-in-law Tommy Trevors.
The family would like to thank the staff of 4 SW at the DECH and the Oromocto Extramural staff for the care and support given to Catherine over the past few months.
A service will be held at 11am, Monday October 21st, 2024, at Saint Michael’s Basilica located at 10 Howard Street, in Chatham, with a private family reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 67 King Street, Chatham.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks if you're able, to make a donation to the NBSPCA, the Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
