Isabel Josephine (Murdock) Voutour, wife of the late Frank Voutour of Miramichi, NB, passed away at Percy’s Place, Miramichi, NB, on June 21st, 2024, at the age of 85.
Born in Loggieville, NB, on February 28th, 1939, Isabel Josephine Voutour was the daughter of the late Wilbur Murdock and Susan (Flaherty) Murdock.
Our Mother “Izzy” was one of the finest. She was so kind to everyone. She opened her doors for anyone. She welcomed everyone. Mom was a person to share, lend, and feed anyone she thought might need it or be hungry. Anytime of the day, whether it was at 1 PM, 8 PM, or 1 AM, she would jump up and cook anything she had. She gave more than she really had to give, but she gave it!
“Mom”, “Mommy”, “Mamma”, or “Isi” she was called. She enjoyed playing cards. Crazy Eights was her game of choice, and she was hard to beat. Her and her sister, Anna passed many hours playing and laughing. She loved it!
Mom and Dad were always happy to see anyone coming through the door with such enthusiasm. They loved company.
Mom travelled a lot through the years with our Dad, visiting Germany to visit with their daughter, Tammy and family who resided there. Tammy knew a lot of history, so they enjoyed learning from her. They loved spending time with them. They also travelled with our brother, Greg, and his wife, Sabrina. They had great times travelling with them. Lots of laughs all the time. Mom saw a lot in her travels, and she enjoyed every moment of it. Mom was a frequent visitor to her son Paul’s place, visiting him and his wife, Cathy. They were always happy to see Mom and she brought lots to talk about. She would bring in treats and news to share.
Her daughter Theresa cared for her Mother the last couple of years, with such love for her Mother, and her husband, Darrell always a helping hand.
