A couple of days ago, someone in Moncton captured a video of a motorist jumping to the aid of a police officer who was entangled with a suspect. The man ran over, tackled the suspect, and allowed the officer to recover and make the arrest.
It's hard to remain anonymous on social media, and even if this man was not seeking any recognition for his efforts, his coworkers and acquaintances were quick to identify him.
Doug Matchett works as a corrections officer and is also well known in racing circles for his driving ability and efforts to promote the local track. One of his coworkers told GO Miramichi, "Doug is a great guy, and I'm not at all surprised he jumped in. That's just who he is."
Making Miramichi proud, Doug. Well done.
