September 12, 2024

Th
e daughters of Marion “Dee Dee” Catherine, Kathleen Barss/ Zabos (nee Votour) sadly announce her passing at St. Joseph’s Villa of Sudbury on September 12, 2024.

Beloved Daughter of John & Irene Votour (nee Furlotte) both predeceased, of Chatham Head, New Brunswick.

Marion is survived by daughters Debra Sealey and Karen Ann Bimm (David) and four grandchildren; Heron Jaz Sealey, Westleah Bimm (Kelsey Collins), Bryanna Bimm (Josh Cuomo), and Hayley Bimm (Jordon Haynes); sisters Iona Graham, Nina Mizuik and Joanne O’Toole of Miramichi, NB and brother Manford of San Pedro, CA.

Marion, affectionately known as Dee Dee, is predeceased by sisters Ruby, Elizabeth “Libby”, and brothers Roy, Everett, Edwin, Arthur “Bick”, Eldon “Goog”, and Roland “Rolly”.

Cherished wife of Florian (Frank) Beaudry predeceased, Fiancée Frank Zabos predeceased, and loving companion and dance partner of Stan Witherell predeceased.

Marion was an excellent cook and an extraordinary baker. She loved music and her greatest joy was dancing, especially waltzing. She loved clothes, shoes, jewellery, and took great care to always look her best. Her values included always keeping your word, being on time, and for family to always be there for each other. Marion also had a sharp sense of humour. She was very mischievous and would only admit to pranks if she got caught!

The family would like to acknowledge the years of care and dedication of her wonderful doctor, the late Dr. Jacob Holub.

We would also like to express our appreciation to Dr. Sophie Gervais who supported and guided us through the difficulties and challenges of Alzheimer's, and to the MANY dedicated caregivers and staff at St. Joseph’s Villa who provided exceptional and constant care to mom for nearly 4 years. A special thank you to Nicole, mom adored you.

There will be a private service for immediate family.

Should flowers or a donation be considered, the family respectfully suggests a donation to St. Joseph’s Villa, The Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
