Mrs. Barbara Regan

Feb. 12, 1932 – Sept. 7, 2024

With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend Mrs. Barbara Regan, ninety-two of Barnaby River. Barbara passed away peacefully at Losier Hall on Sept.7 2024.

Born in Barnaby River on February 12, 1932, Barbara lived an extraordinary life of giving and helping others, while setting an example for her children, and all that knew her by approaching each day with purpose, perseverance, kindness, humility and grace. A person of strong faith and enormous character, Barbara particularly loved helping children in need and over time looked after 29 foster children including several with special needs, and was recognized by the province for her extraordinary commitment.

While travelling extensively in her golden years, Barbara was most happy while with family, and most at home in her beloved Barnaby, tending to her flowers, nurturing her garden, and crafting wonderful meals and desserts for family and friends, especially her famous chocolate squares.

Barbara is survived by her sons Kevin (Desak) and Michael (Toni), granddaughters Jennifer and Ashley and her siblings Josephine Harrigan and Evelyn O’Toole of the Miramichi, and Clayton Daley of Truro, Nova Scotia.

Barbara is predeceased by her husband (Andrew), siblings: Billy, Marie, Raymond, Marjorie, Edward, Frankie, Lita, Clarence, as well as her foster son Pat.
